Not to forget that Jeter married his wife, Hannah Davis, only after retirement. Although Jeter had won everything in baseball, he would still feel jealous of his teammates in the Yankees clubhouse.

Recently, the former Yankees captain opened up about his personal and professional lives while talking to Angie Martinez on her podcast. Although Derek Jeter discussed several things on the podcast, there was a point when Jeter admitted he felt jealous of his teammates.

Unlike Jeter, a few Yankees players, who had kids, would bring them to the clubhouse very often. And that was something Jeter would feel jealous of. When asked about it, Jeter also said he married after retirement only because he wanted to remain focused on the game.

“Just knowing my mindset, I have always been jealous of players that have had kids during their careers. Their kids were in the clubhouse… My girls, tonight (Hall of Fame celebration at the Bronx), for the first time, we are going to be in Yankee Stadium,” Derek Jeter said.

The Yankees legend also mentioned his happiness when he got to know his daughters will get to visit Yankee Stadium on the Hall of Fame celebration night.

Whether it was about his professional or personal life, Jeter knew exactly when to take the next step. Known for his calmness and gentle nature, Jeter always prioritise the Yankees when he played baseball.
