Derek Jeter has shown his skill in a number of different things after retiring from baseball. From playing golf in his free time to serving as CEO of the Miami Marlins, Jeter has done it all. Furthermore, the Yankee legend has even been extremely involved in his Turn 2 Foundation.

But there is one thing that Jeter has not been able to accomplish so far. The 5-time World Series champion has been unable to sell a property he owns. The funny thing is that there is nothing wrong with the house. In fact, the complete opposite can be said of it.

Derek Jeter has been unable to sell his Castle House, which has everything one could dream of

Derek Jeter put his Greenwood lake property on the market in 2018 but was unable to find any buyers. The castle-like property has a number of different features. According to thrilist.com, it includes “a main house, a guest house, and a pool house, in addition to all the extensive gardens, the lagoon, and even a boat house”. Furthermore, it is a 6-bedroom, 12-bathroom mansion that has four indoor kitchens and one outdoor kitchen with a fireplace.

But despite all these features and more, Jeter has been unable to sell the house. In fact, the house will be put up for auction with a minimum price of $6.5 million. This is a huge drop off from the original reported asking price of $14.75 million in 2018.

Jeter once sold an apartment he owned in Trump Towers, but selling this house is proving to be more troublesome. It will be interesting to see who eventually buys the property and for what price. 

When did Jeter buy the house and for what price?

According to reports, Derek Jeter originally bought the house for $425,000 in 2003. At the time, he was still playing with the Yankees. Following extensive renovations and a lot of work, Jeter eventually put the property up for sale in 2018.
