What happened:
During Game 2 of the NLCS at American Family Field, a Los Angeles Dodgers fan, Ricardo Fosado, who also happens to be a U.S. Navy veteran, found himself in a rather uncomfortable confrontation with a certain Milwaukee Brewers fan, identified as Shannon Kobylarczyk. He had recorded that interaction, which quickly spread online after it showed the woman making an immigration-related dig.

In the video, this Brewers fan could be heard saying, “Real men drink beer.” Then Kobylarczyk went on to produce an expletive towards the veteran, who at the time was holding a spiked refresher.
When the Dodgers began to take the lead and the home crowd grew quiet, the LA fan shouted, “Why is everyone so quiet?”—to this, the alleged Karen responded, “You know what, let’s call ICE.”

To this, the Dodger fan replied, “Call ICE. Call ICE. I’m a U.S. citizen, a war veteran, baby girl. Two wars. ICE can’t do anything to me.” Fosado later shared with FOX6 that he is usually used to the back and forth that comes with baseball banter, but that remark took it to a rather personal level.
“…Led it out of baseball and took it out of the cheering into something more personal, the personal level. Showed where her heart is, I believe. She showed us what she really thinks.”
The fallout:
The woman was later identified shortly after the video went viral. Make-A-Wish Wisconsin confirmed that Shannon Kobylarczyk had resigned from its board. Additionally, her employer, ManpowerGroup, a Milwaukee-based staffing firm, confirmed that she was no longer with the organization following an internal investigation.

In a statement, the company mentioned, “As soon as we became aware of this video, the individual was placed on immediate leave, and we began an investigation. As a result of this process, the employee is no longer with the organization. We remain committed to maintaining a culture grounded in respect, integrity, and accountability.”
The US veteran later mentioned that he wished the Milwaukee Brewers fan no ill will or for her to lose the job, but understood that her actions ultimately led to her receiving consequences. “Did I wish that on her? Probably not, you know, I don’t really care what happens to her. Whether she gets fired or not, that’s none of my business. But there are consequences for people’s actions, you know?” he told FOX6.
What’s interesting is that Ricardo Fosado, himself, was ejected from the stadium in the seventh inning after admitting he swore during the exchange. Later, he shared that even then, he enjoyed his time at the game.
“This is my first time at a Brewers game and I got kicked out, but you know what?. I had a great experience, and everybody was really friendly and welcoming. So I don’t take that one incident and label the whole entire day bad.”
Our rating: True
Yes, the Brewers Karen, who was seen on the video making a “call ICE” remark towards a Dodger fan, did lose her job at ManpowerGroup. She has resigned from her Make-A-Wish Wisconsin board position. Both organizations have since confirmed her departure in official statements.
