In the world of baseball’s free agency, predictions and assumptions frequently wield significant influence. This year, Shohei Ohtani‘s free agency is the biggest speculation topic for fans and the media. While the teams and Ohtani are still silent, MLB experts can’t keep their calm. Almost every MLB insider and analyst has joined the flow to predict a suitable landing spot for the Japanese superhero. Recently, another renowned analyst joined the discussion. His prediction states a potential Los Angeles team, but the potential contract value he gave is a little lesser than the previously anticipated $500 million.

Since the two-way phenom got injured, speculations about his probable landing spot have inclined. The major league world is trying to figure out if it will affect his free agency offers and the teams’ intentions that were considering signing Ohtani. However, most predictions say nothing can affect the price tag of Ohtani’s contract. While several people state their opinions, the Dodgers surpass every other team in potential.

While speaking with The Foul Territory, Tim Kurkjian predicted the future of Ohtani and clarified his points. While addressing this point, he first mentioned that the uncertainties and injuries will hamper the value the Angels star would have received otherwise. However, per him, “He’s really gonna get paid. But he is gonna lose a bunch of money because he is not a pitcher right now. But somebody is going on to go out there and give him a ton of money; maybe just say $450M and then load it up with incentives in case he comes back as a pitcher in 2025.”

Per Kurkjian, Ohtani will probably remain in Los Angeles—if not with the Angels, then probably with the Dodgers. However, the analyst stated that it must be the Dodgers. “And as for where he’s gonna go, of course, that’s the big question, and nobody has the right answer here. But it just seems most logical to me that the Dodgers have the best shot at him”, he explained.

Of course, he has his reasons that almost make Ohtani and Dodgers compatible. According to him, Ohtani has achieved almost everything except for wins as a team with the Angles, and the Dodgers are the consistent winners that promise him a long-term winning career. Also, he thinks the Dodgers have been saving money for the last few years, so they can afford the price tag of Ohtani.

While the Dodgers are receiving preferences, it’s important to note that they are not the sole entities included on the list.
