Aaron Judge is one of the biggest names in baseball on any day. The 16th captain of the New York Yankees, Judge had been leading his team long before he had the official title. In 2022, he broke the AL single-season home run record at 62, dethroning Roger Maris from the position. Then he proceeded to sign one of the biggest contracts in sports history at nine years, $360 million with the Yankees.

All this time, standing by his side to witness his rise to fame was his family – his parents, Patty and Wayne Judge, as well as his wife, Samantha Brackseick. These three often feature in pictures with Judge and fans know the Yankees player will always have their support. But there is another member of the Aaron Judge family, who generally stays away from the spotlight.

Fans who have followed Judge know that he was adopted when he was just two days old by Patty and Wayne. But when Aaron was adopted in 1992, he came home to an older brother – John.

Who is Aaron Judge’s brother, John Judge?

Patty and Wayne Judge first met at Fresno State University, a school that Aaron would later play baseball for, and got married in 1975. They went on to build a family with their two sons, John and Aaron. In fact, their younger son would one day become the face of baseball, playing for one of the biggest franchises in the world.

While he may be a well-known personality, Aaron is better known for usually keeping mum about his personal life. One topic he is always ready to divulge is how he is grateful to his parents for their constant support. When Judge was about 10 or 11 years old, he realized that he looked different. That was when he found out that he was adopted. The same went for his brother, John Judge.

Is John Judge adopted too?

After graduating from Fresno State and tying the knot in 1975, Patty and Wayne eventually adopted a son, John Jacob, in 1985. He is presumably in his mid-30s and a little older than Aaron. Preferring to lead a more private life than his brother, John Judge is rarely in the audience at Yankee Stadium.

But another reason for that may be that Aaron Judge’s brother does not live in the US at all!

What does John Judge do for a living?

As per some sources, John followed in his parents’ footsteps and became a teacher. Patty and Wayne used to work as high school PE teachers, although the couple is now enjoying their retired life. They always prioritized their kids’ education and wanted to make sure that if nothing else, both John and Aaron grew up to be good people.

They soon realized that Aaron was extremely athletic and supported his dream. But John took a different route – he chose to become a teacher and currently teaches English in South Korea. This may be one reason that he is never seen alongside his parents at his brother’s games.
