But both Jeter and ‘A-Rod’ are still two unique individuals. Jeter allowed the least publicity in his personal life, as he was more concerned about achieving fame through his playing talent. Whereas, ‘A-Rod’ has always been a larger-than-life celebrity on and off the field.

While ‘A-Rod’ was always open to the public about his love affairs, Jeter stayed private for the most part. Establishing an image as a sporting genius, Jeter knew that he had to put a blanket on his personal life to let his career shine through. According to a source, speaking about his personal life in an interview with Sports Illustrated, Jeter said, “You have to assume that everything you do is public knowledge. Everything. Because now everyone is a reporter. Everyone is a photographer. Someone can take a picture and make a story, which has happened plenty of times, and twist it and turn it any way they want to. You used to be able to go out … it’s all I’ve known. I’ve been here since I was 20.” 

The present life of Mr. Clean 

Having retired from the sport in 2014, Derek Jeter married Hannah Davis (Jeter) in 2016. They have been happily together since then, raising three daughters. Jeter turned the CEO and co-owner of the Miami Marlins in 2017 but left the role in 2022. He is now devoted to caring for his family.
