

Women in baseball have always been a rarity, but that is about to change. They have been reigning in almost every possible sport nowadays. And baseball is no different. Because of the efforts from individual pioneers like Amanda Clement, Jackie Mitchell, and others, even though a bit late, someone like pitcher Olivia Pichardo is now leaving a mark in modern baseball. Pichardo has previously interned with the scouting department of the New York Mets.

After interning in New York Mets amateur scouting department in 2022, Pichardo made history by becoming the first woman in NCAA Division I to make the varsity baseball roster. And now, by appearing in an NCAA Division I game, she has once again made history. While doing so, she stunned baseball fans with her talents for the second time in the sport’s history.

This Former New York Mets intern is an inspiration for many!
Until now, not many girls or women have shown much interest in playing ball, as they have considered it a men’s game. But now, Pichardo and the other women who have ever lifted a baseball bat would be an inspiration and bring in baseball’s transformation.
