The claim: So, there’s a lot of buzz right now around Bo Bichette heading into free agency, and the Dodgers are being pegged as potential frontrunners to land him. One message-board account claims they’re “front-runners” to sign him this offseason. “Dodgers are ‘front-runners’ to sign SS Bo Bichette this offseason,” MLBCentel claims.

That said, it’s not something obvious; it might seem so. Recently, Bichette has made it clear he’d like to stay with the Toronto Blue Jays: “I’ve said I wanted to be here from the beginning.” But on the flip side, the market for Bichette is expected to be huge as we’re talking rumoured 8-year deals north of $200 million. Given that the Blue Jays just committed major dollars to Vladimir Guerrero Jr., it raises the question of whether Toronto will be willing (or able) to match that kind of offer.

So, in short, the claim that the Dodgers are in the picture holds water. They’re certainly among the teams to watch, but nothing is locked in, and Bichette’s preference to stay in Toronto adds a layer of complexity.

Our Rating: False

Well, just recheck the source, and you’ll be skeptical about believing the report. Yes, the name MLBCentel resembles another renowned media house, but this one is a parody account. Check their other posts, and you’ll see they are all fabricated and made for entertainment purposes. So, let it be clear that till now, there’s no concrete news or reports about the Dodgers pursuing Bichette.

That being said, Bichette is already rumored to land in an NL West team, but not the Dodgers. As MLB insider David Schoenfield claims, “Bichette’s free agency will be fascinating… teams will be looking at him as a second or third baseman rather than a shortstop… We mentioned the Giants as a potential fit… for Bichette, as Giants second basemen hit just .216/.273/.342.”

Notably, the Giants also look like strong contenders to make a run at Bo Bichette. If you remember, their second basemen struggled in 2025, hitting just .216 with a .273 OBP and a .342 slugging. That’s why Bichette, with his consistent bat and ability to drive in runs, could be such a great fit. Yes, defensively, he might not serve good, but his offense is what really makes him appealing.

For Giants fans desperate for more firepower in the lineup, Bichette could bring both steady production and a spark of star potential!!! And yes, that’s definitely not the Dodgers.

The Dodgers could be in the race for Bichette anytime

As Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller states, “The Dodgers might want Bichette at shortstop to reduce the wear and tear on Betts…. Were this any other franchise, we’d have to ask how they can afford it, considering they’re already looking at a 2026 payroll where the 14 known salaries total more than $240 million. But it’s the Dodgers.”

Well, we still remember how the Dodgers, despite winning it all in 2024, went on to pick names like Kirby Yates, Blake Snell, and Roki Sasaki. So yes, the Dodgers could be anytime in the race for Bichette as well, despite having no such concrete reports till now.

However, Bichette’s potential journey to Los Angeles will come at a cost. Why? Because the Dodgers reportedly will ask him to move to 2B or DH, as Mookie Betts is well settled at shortstop. Will Bichette accept that? If yes, and the Dodgers are willing to splash $200 million, then chances are likely to make the rumors true.

But again, until now, there’s no report of the Dodgers pursuing Bo Bichette!!
