Was it an indirect dig by Pete Alonso?

The Chicago Cubs had 74 wins in this year’s regular season while they lost 88. Whereas the New York Mets have 101 wins, while they lost only 61 in this year’s regular season. But one other thing which might be considered unusual by many is that the Cubs were able to sweep off the Mets in a three-game series at Citi Field.?

Therefore, when Pete Alonso got asked if it was unfair for the New York Mets to be playing in the Wild Card Series even with 101 wins in the regular season, he replied,?“We got swept by the Cubs.” However, it did not end there. As soon as Pete’s reply went on social media, fans started hoarding him for thinking playing Wild Card Games with 100+ wins is a bad thing.?

They also reminded him that the Los Angeles Dodgers played in the Wild Card game last year, even though they had 106 wins in their corner during the regular season.?
