In the seventh inning, Ohtani powered a long solo home run to the center field. As he did so, he brought his home runs of the season to a total of 23, more than anyone else in the league.

With this 23rd homer of the season, Shohei brought his career home runs tally to a total of 150. With his statistic, he permanently wrote his name in MLB history by becoming the second Japanese player to hit 150 MLB homers. Notably, it is a fantastic feat and will indeed help his case when he signs the record-breaking contract in his free agency. Fans from both the USA and Japan are rooting for their favorite player to have a contract as big as a billion dollars.
