Derek Jeter is undoubtedly one of the best MLB icons of all time. Along with that, he is an equally good husband and a father. The legend’s family life is well-balanced, as is his baseball career. Still, like other parents, Derek and Hannah have their thoughts about their children. Months before her first kid was born, she shared her thoughts as a mother.

The baseball legend has good luck in marriage. His partner is always supportive, and the legend even admits that she always backs him up. The supportive wife once opened her mind and expressed her sadness about their children missing their father’s stardom. But like every mother, the American model wants her children to know about their father, “know Derek Jeter.”

Hannah and Derek Jeter met in 2012, got married in 2016, and welcomed their first daughter in 2017. In between these events, there was another vital event happened. The Yankees icon announced his retirement in 2014. Though he is a successful businessman after retirement, it can never surpass the glory of his baseball achievement. Also, his wife doesn’t want that. She once revealed that she wanted her children to know the baseball legend that their father used to be.

During an interview with the Players Tribune in 2017, the model talked about her plans to raise her kids as normally as possible. So they can be strong in the future. However, she also expressed her sadness about them missing out on their father’s glorious career. She revealed, “Still, though, I want them to know Derek Jeter. I feel some sadness — and Derek must as well — thinking about how our children will never get to experience that time in his life.”

The going-to-be mother was even excited to see her kids getting bigger, so she could share the photos with them- show them the memories. She expressed, “We can show them videos, and photos, and memorabilia — I already can’t wait to show them footage of that last night at the Stadium. But I know it won’t be quite the same. I’ll tell them myself: You had to be there.” She wanted her kids not to be unaware of the stardom of their father as a baseball player.

With children, things have always been messy. Becoming a father of four children, and all are under six, requires a separate energy level. The MLB icon even felt it. He once shared this in an interview, revealing the house is always full of chatter, chorus, and mess. However, the baseball legend has adapted to the new role quite well.

However, Jeter also ensures that his children won’t fall into his shadow and feel pressured. He confirms they will have the freedom to choose whatever they like. Their father will always be there with them, no matter what they choose.
