Only a few MLB players have given as many core baseball memories to fans as Ichiro Suzuki. The Seattle Mariners’ legend was one of the most feared players of his time. But at the same time, the love he commanded from the fans was second to none. Even though the 10-time MLB All-Star and 10-time Gold Glove awardee is now retired and a sure-shot future Hall of Famer, he still tries to enter the diamond in whatever way he can. This time, the Japanese legend decided to play against an All-Star team of high school girls. One can guess what happened next, but it was exciting nonetheless.
Not only did Ichiro bat, but he also pitched during this game. Baseball fans had a blast seeing their legend again on the diamond. Most fans laughed and playfully called it Ichiro stat padding against high schoolers, but even the students had quite a few memorable moments of their own.

Ichiro didn’t ever have a fastball, in fact, he was not a permanent pitcher. However, his breakers were always deadly. But nobody would believe that he’d have his best figures at a very young age of…50! But that’s what he did when he pitched 116 pitches for a complete game shutout against the high school All-Stars.

If that was not enough, the 50YO also batted 2-5. This headed for complete domination, but then the young girls had a few things up their sleeves as well. One pitcher struck out Ichiro. He was upset, but the girl couldn’t stop smiling. Certainly, she now has the coolest story among her peers about striking out a legend.
Now this might seem new but Ichiro regularly does such kinds of things. His love for baseball transcends even the barriers of age and physical decline. But fans won’t mind as they get to see a priceless baseball treasure in the diamond even after his retirement. This comes days after he was in the news for another act of his.

While his primary job is as a special assistant to the Mariners’ chairman, Suzuki sometimes gives coaching sessions to school students. In one such session, he belted a massive home run that cleared the 26-foot-high netting. The students laughed hysterically as the ball broke the school’s window and entered a maths class.
