New York Mets fans go after Phillies broadcasters for attacking Francisco Lindor
The Mets recently beat their NL East rivals in a crucial 4-1 game. But a Francisco Lindor defensive play has dominated discussions as Phillies broadcasters expressed displeasure at it. In the top of the 5th inning, Lindor caught a fly ball. He then threw it to first base to complete the double play. The star infielder had tossed a bouncing throw to first base, perhaps for safety. This displeased broadcasters and in turn, Mets fans came to Lindor’s defense. Talkin’ Baseball shared a video of the broadcasters complaining about the play on Twitter.

Other fans said that Lindor did nothing wrong.
Mad he took the 100% out rather than risk sailing it? Toss wasn’t even that bad other than it created an easy slow scoop 😂

Sure beats a "normal" throw that could be erratic…… It was actually a "safer" throw, in regard to the potential of it being an error.

Isn't this just kind of a precaution to guarantee he doesn't throw it out of play?

The remarks by the Phillies’ commentators overshadowed what was a big win for the Mets. The New York-based team has been in good form recently and managed to climb the AL East. But Lindor has struggled to find his form thus far.

Mets star Lindor is struggling for form
Francisco Lindor is a historically slow starter. Over the last couple of seasons, he has struggled in the first two months or so of the regular season. This trend seems to have continued this year as he tries to find his batting form. Although he has managed 10 home runs thus far, his hitting has been inconsistent. Even fans have given him flak for his form. It will be interesting to see how long this run lasts as the Mets look to further improve their record.
