Fresh Off MLB Suspension, Fernando Tatis Jr. Feels “First Date” Nerves Ahead of San Diego Padres Comeback

Fernando Tatis Jr. had the heart of people with his electric plays until he didn’t. He missed the last MLB season due to a wrist injury because of a biking accident and was also suspended because of a positive PED test, which he said was because of a ringworm treatment he had been taking. 

But the athlete has finally made a comeback. In a recent San Diego FanFest, Tatis talked about returning to the ballpark. He said he was nervous about coming back to the diamond and what the reaction of his fans would be. Let’s take a look at what Tatis said, shall we?

It’s a given that he has butterflies about coming back, given the discourse that has been surrounding him. But it did look like the fan favorite was ready to make a mark on the field yet again. Although he was just as nervous about it. According to nbcsandiego.com, here’s what he had to say, “Of course. Of course, I am,” said Tatis Jr. “But I feel like it’s good emotion, those butterflies when you go on the first date. I feel like that’s about it.” 

And it seems like the fans are just as excited as him because when he walked amongst them, they started chanting his name. It seems like the discourse is behind him and the Padres fans have moved on.
