Aaron Judge is now the name that catches hold of every baseball follower’s attention. Understandably, he grooved through every baseball fan’s imagination throughout this year. He indulged the fans in guessing his total tally of home runs and also kept them speculating about his future. Though Judge has finally put those speculations to rest now, fresh reports have explained why he took a long time.
Back in 2016, Judge began his MLB career as the New York Yankees outfielder, and this year, his contract expired. Multiple teams expressed their desire to get the marquee player on their roster. Among interested teams, the San Francisco Giants and San Diego Padres reached inches closer to signing him up. But Judge decided to pick legacy over money and re-signed with the Yankees.

As per common knowledge, Aaron Judge recently signed a $360 million deal with the Yankees for a nine-year period. However, amid the spring training session, Judge rejected a term extension offer from the Yanks. But he has made a return to the powerhouse franchise, choosing larger contracts in comparison. Thus, Judge has clarified that there are matters more important to him than money.

Therefore, as the tale goes, Judge attended the winter meetings with the Giants and the Padres. The Giants offered a contract to Judge with an amount identical to the Yankees. However, the Padres offered even a humongous contract worth $400 million for a 10-year term to Judge. But swinging his bat between the two teams, Judge finally returned to the Bronx.
Judge, the reigning American League MVP, thus clarified that he had no desire to surrender his legacy. Thus, his honor meant more to him than a few dollars in surplus.

A word from the Yankees organization after re-signing the AL MVP
Speaking after clearing the Judge deal, the Yankees general manager Brian Cashman said, “Our organization has tried to stay connected in every way possible and Hal Steinbrenner directly with Aaron Judge as well to make sure that there was gonna be no stone unturned and there was no effort missed in our discussions.”
“When Aaron Judge makes a final decision of what he wants to do with his professional career, as he moves forward, that there would be nothing left unsaid, or nothing left undid,” Cashman added.
