He pitched a perfect inning, with no hits or walks. But Cole was pulled off of the mound after his first inning. In a Tweet, they said, “Gerrit Cole was on pace to throw a perfect game and they took him out smh”. If he had achieved it, it would have been the first time a perfect game was thrown at the All-Star game. But given the format of the Midsummer Classic, it was highly unlikely that Cole would pitch more than one or two innings.
