Ever since the game of baseball has come into existence, it has seen several legendary players play the game. Be it Babe Ruth, Mickey Mantle, Derek Jeter, Yogi Berra, and many others, baseball fans have been blessed to enjoy the legacies of such iconic players. But can anyone measure the legacy and tell if any of them can precede the other? However, since everyone is entitled to their own opinions, they can have their favorites in the game.

Recently, one of the highest-paid players in the big league, New York Yankees’ ace Gerrit Cole, named four of his favorite players who, according to him, should be the faces of the Yanks’ Mt. Rushmore. Evidently, he did not forget to mention the iconic Captain Clutch, Derek Jeter. But as soon as the video of Cole telling the names of those players went up, baseball fans started berating him for not putting some of the obvious names on his list.

Taking the names of some of the best athletes to ever play the game, Cole said, “Babe Ruth, Derek Jeter, a pitcher, I feel like you got to have a pitcher there, so Guidry (Rob Guidry), and Yogi Berra.”

All these four athletes are indeed some of the best ever to step foot in the ballpark. However, it is also possible that the rest of the great Yankees might be better than these four. If not, according to the Yankees fanbase, there are a couple of players who should definitely be on the list, aka Mt. Rushmore.

One of those players, according to the fans, is the Commerce Comet, legendary athlete Mickey Mantle.
