In a Tweet, Talkin’ Yanks said, “Aaron Boone has just announced that Gerrit Cole will be the Opening Day starter 🤯🤯🤯”. This is great news for the team as they have lost several players to injury in the last couple of weeks.

The reactions to this news have been lukewarm at best. Many fans expected Cole to be the Opening Day starting pitcher and took it for granted.

Some fans replied to the news with sarcastic jokes. They wanted to express that it’s obvious Cole is going to be the Opening Day starting pitcher.

Others cracked jokes and said that the Yankees’ shortstop, Isiah Kiner-Falefa, should be the starting pitcher.
