New York Yankees’ star slugger Giancarlo Stanton is the latest addition to his team’s injury list. Stanton is out, struggling with Achilles tendonitis. The management has put him on a ten-day injured list. Yankees’ manager Aaron Boone told reporters that Stanton could miss two to three weeks, on the way to recovery.?

Giancarlo Stanton is a famous designated hitter and outfielder for the New York Yankees. Known for his powerful shots, Stanton has scored 24 home runs this season. Stanton started his MLB career with the Miami Marlins in 2010. The Yankees signed him up in 2017, and from there on, his star value has been on the rise.

Aaron Boone kept Giancarlo Stanton out of action in the past weekend to give some much-needed rest to the slugger. Due to fitness concerns, the injury-prone Stanton wasn’t in the starting lineup for either of the games on Saturday or Sunday. Though, Stanton did pinch hit in Saturday’s game. A champion slugger, Giancarlo Stanton has a history of injury setbacks. Stanton has already missed ten days in May this season due to a calf injury. Now he is out for the same number of days, suffering from Achilles tendonitis. Though, according to the manager Aaron Boone, it might take even longer for Stanton to recover this time around. Stanton joined a growing list of injured Yankees players as one-half of the Bronx Bombers will miss the 2022 Subway Series.?

According to a source, in an interview with the New York Post, Boone said, “I feel the time (off) gives him a little bit of a reset that serves him well. I don’t want to push him through something now. I think it’s wise to take a couple of days right now and get him back to the wrecking machine he is.” Meanwhile, outfielder Tim Locastro has been called up as a replacement.?

Stanton missed most of the 2019 season due to injuries. He played exclusively as a designated hitter in 2020. Stanton has already played more games as an outfielder than as a designated hitter. But as the situation stands now, the management may curtail Stanton’s outfield duties to prolong Stanton’s availability as a designated hitter.?
