Furthermore, any actions that point to distractions are criticized by supporters. Most recently, a Bronx Bombers infielder was ruthlessly criticized for a cat prank that surfaced moments before disaster.

Sitting in last place, the Yankees continue to fall as their season matches an unwanted record. The poor results have made fans irritated. this prank before a disastrous result only amplified those feelings. 

Gleyber Torres brings out stuffed cat toy to prank Venezuelan teammate

Gleyber Torres has been in decent form over the last few outings, recording many multiple-hit outings. But despite this, the Yankees’ results have remained poor because of other out-of-form performers. Most recently, the infielder pranked his Venezuelan teammate Eduardo Escobar, who plays for the Los Angeles Angels. Torres ran after Escobar with a stuffed cat as the opposing player is deathly afraid of the animal. The Athletic’s Sam Blum shared a video of the incident on Twitter.

In a Tweet, he said, “Gleyber Torres was chasing Eduardo Escobar around with a toy cat. Escobar is known for hating cats.” Furthermore, this is not the first time he is doing this to Escobar. The Bombers infielder reportedly pulled off a similar joke during the Subway series. This was before Escobar was traded to the Angels.
