New York Yankees’ star Gleyber Torres has recently voiced his opinion over an infamous incident. The scandal occurred at a baseball game in Torres’ native country, Venezuela. It was a Venezuelan Winter League game between the Caribes de Anzoategui and the Tiburones de La Guaira. Former MLB star Asdrubal Cabrera incited a brawl during the game.

The brawl started after Guaira’s Carlos Castro smashed a home run. Amid the celebration of the home run, Castro taunted Anzoategui’s dugout. Cabrera, who is an Anzoategui player, took note of Castro’s actions. Enraged by Castro’s celebratory move, Cabrera dealt a punch to Castro in response, and consequently, the benches got clear.

Cabrera won the World Series with the Nationals in 2019.

New York Yankees star disappointed over the shameful acts of cowardice

Yankees’ second baseman, Gleyber Torres is seemingly hurt over the news of Asdrubal Cabrera’s violent actions on the baseball diamond. So Torres released a statement in Spanish, condemning Cabrera’s decision. Torres referred to Cabrera as ‘The Oldest in the League’. Thus, Torres requested ‘The Veterans’ to understand and comply with the on-field celebrations of the younger generation.

Jomboy Media and Talkin’ Baseball network jointly shared the report on Twitter by quoting, “Gleyber Torres is disappointed that a punch was thrown during a home run celebration in his home country.”

One person replied by writing, “I’ve always loved Asdrubal Cabrera, but that was way too much of an overreaction and simply was assault. The way he hit him could’ve left serious damage for simply pumping a Homerun. Embarrassing.”

Another fan wrote, “Where’s the line between pimping and disrespect? Also every other sport has a line where taunting is no longer acceptable.”

One more fan wrote, “Then don’t complain when an old school pitcher drills you with a pitch after hot dogging.”

Yet another fan wrote, “Now ask him how he feels when his fans chant ‘f* Altuve’ b/c of false reports from a certain media site that reported false news to grow their fan base. Does he have the same energy there?”

A few more fan replies:

Therefore, while some fans agree with Torres and have hit out at Cabrera, some others don’t share Torres’ emotions.
