Houston Astros made headlines back in November 2022 after they won the World Series title for the second time. Their first win was in 2017 and was highly publicized as an infamous victory. Notably, they won 5-1 against the LA Dodgers in 2017, and 4-2 against the Philadelphia Phillies in 2022. While the first win of the Stars may have been historic for being rather notorious, 2022 was better received.

The Astros won six games against the Phillies, dominating three games in a row. The title of the MVP of the World Series 2022 event went to an Astros player, rookie shortstop Jeremy Pe?a. But at a recent ceremony to honor the team, most were missing from attendance. What’s more, only two players showed up, looking rather stiff and awkward in the pictures.

Fans are enraged at Greg Abbott’s half-hearted efforts

Recently, the governor of Texas state, Greg Abbott, congratulated the team for their second World Series win. In attendance were only Jason Castro and Ryan Pressly, and Castro actually announced his retirement in December. This really only means Pressly was the unlucky one to be selected as the representative of the current team.

Most people berated Abbott for his lack of effort and for not being able to gather more of the team members.

State Senator Roland Gutierrez thanked the Astros for all their help in the aftermath. “They adopted families. They had them out to various games. The Astros organization came down to Uvalde and took up these families with open arms. And I wanted to say thank you for everything that you did for them,” he said during the event.

The Astros did a remarkable thing that the affected families will always be thankful for. In addition, they also did a baseball event, an ice cream giveaway, and a hospital visit in Uvalde to show support.
