Modern-day MLB icon Aaron Judge has remained the prime trending baseball superstar this year. From on-field performances to contract offers, he grabbed headlines on multiple fronts. With the MLB in its off-season, he put the public speculations to rest by re-signing with the New York Yankees. Now Judge recently came into the spotlight again by thanking his wife for the decision to remain a Bronx hero.

Judge had the media and fans tracking his every move, as his free agency period reached near. His historic home run carnival and seasonal league MVP honors further increased the stakes on his star value. So, while numerous began vying for the marquee game-winner, the megastar slugger decided to remain a Yankees loyalist. Since Judge has now given credit to his wife for his Yankees return, the fans have spoken on the matter.

How did the fans welcome Aaron Judge’s comments? 

While Judge was a free agent, the San Francisco Giants and the San Diego Padres came closest to signing him. Not to forget that he earlier had rejected a contract extension offer from the Yankees during spring training. But the reigning AL MVP finally signed a $360 million worth contract with the Pinstripes for a nine-year period. Judge even clarified that he chose the Yankees over the other teams, with concerns about his legacy.

The Giants offered a somewhat similar contract to Judge. However, the Padres made a much bigger offer worth $400 million over a ten-year period. But looking left and right, he eventually jumped the wall and walked back into the Yankees dugout. Judge has clearly mentioned how his wife influenced his decision to stay in New York, their adopted home. 

The WFAN Sports Radio network posted the news on their Twitter account, quoting, “(Free agency) was tough. It was a different situation, but I sat down with my wife, and we came to the decision that was in our heart, that we belong in New York. There’s a lot of unfinished business here.” 

While the radio show host, Keith McPherson posted the news, quoting, “Shoutout to Samantha Judge for not ‘wanting to go home’ like many ppl said. ‘We belong in New York. We belong in this city.”

One fan replied, quoting, “Happy wife, happy life! Good for her.”

Therefore, most of the fans have echoed Judge’s grateful statement, whereas a few others disagree. Nonetheless, back in the Yankees ranks, Judge will surely be looking forward to clinching a World Series title now.
