Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez and Derek Jeter might be the best players to play baseball in the 21st century. The two even shared the same locker room for over ten years while playing for the New York Yankees. Once, during the early days of their professional career, A-Rod and Jeter shared a good relationship.
Even when A-Rod was not a part of the Yankees, he and Jeter were good friends off the field. However, later in the early 2000s, something happened between these two, and the years of friendship got ruined. Notably, during his Texas Rangers days, A-Rod had made some serious remarks against his the-close friend Derek Jeter. He had said that beating Jeter was never a concern.

Reasonably, Jeter took offense at A-Rod’s comment. And since that day, the relationship between Jeter and A-Rod has never been the same. However, at times, A-Rod has tried his best to make things right with Jeter. Many people might not know, but A-Rod once backed Derek Jeter for his decision-making as the Miami Marlins CEO.
When Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez backed his Yankees teammate Derek Jeter
Back in the 2020 season, Derek Jeter was the part-owner and CEO of the Miami Marlins. Under Jeter’s era, the Marlins could not do much in Major League Baseball. And that is why now and then, baseball pundits were after Jeter’s decision as the Marlins CEO.
However, when the tides were against Jeter, A-Rod stepped in to defend Jeter from harsh criticism. He praised Jeter for making the Marlins a great pitching side in MLB.

“I don’t think Derek Jeter, the five-time world champion, the Marlins owner, hasn’t gotten enough credit for the trade. He trades Stanton, Yelich… None of them had a winning season. But what they have, they have loaded up with great pitching and a bunch of athletes,” Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez said in the video.
Earlier this year, Derek Jeter resigned from his position at the Miami Marlins. Currently, he is busy promoting his upcoming documentary.
