The Houston Astros are still on their remarkable journey. The defending World Series champions are again on their way to winning their second World Series in a row. Though their journey got a big hit, as the ALCS start was not great for them, they soon made a shining comeback with back-to-back wins. All thanks to their infielder Jose Altuve. Seems like he is in his dream run in the ongoing series, leading his team, that lost the way in the beginning, to its destination. This even surprised his long-time teammates.

The ALCS Game 5 between the Astros and the Texas Rangers was tough. As the situation was growing challenging, again, Altuve appeared as a savior, leading them to an 8-5 win. The Game 5 win not only broke their series tie but also placed them in an advantageous position.

In the major leagues, situations turn in an instant. The Texas Rangers are probably going through that phase now. While they had a great ALCS star, suddenly, the equation completely changed. The Astros took the away 3-games in a row, giving them a hard time to survive. Altuve’s three-run homer in the ninth inning almost swept the Rangers away on Friday. This has brought praise from his long-time teammate Alex Bregman.

As the interviewer asked him to explain how the 33-year-old Astros’ second baseman can do these miraculous incidents, Bregman, without a second thought, replied, “He’s incredible. He’s so clutchy….” Continuing his point further, the Astors’ shortstop revealed, “It seems like in the biggest moments in this franchise’s history, he always comes through.”

About his own feelings, Bregman said, “In awe…in awe really, and I get to see him on a daily basis.” The 29-year-old shortstop didn’t stop there. He further continued that it’s an honor for him to share the field with Altuve. Furthermore, he expressed his desire for his 14-month-old son to become a man like Altuve.

The star of the day, 2x World Series champion, also offered his exciting views on their 3-2 series lead, “We’ve done it so many times. We never give up until the last out.”

Baseball is a team game, and one’s solo performance can’t lead the team to a glorious victory against a powerful opponent. So, of course, there were more players who contributed a lot to this win.

Astros players who shined brightly besides Jose Altuve

Though Bregman was praising his teammate, he made his contribution on Friday’s game. He also scored a homer for his team. Talking about contributions, can’t ignore Ryan Pressly. The Astros’ pitcher played as a replacement for José Abreu, who was ejected during the game. However, Pressly did an amazing job by pitching two scoreless innings and restricting the Rangers’ progress. Finally, Justin Verlander should be mentioned as another shining star of the game. In the sixth innings, he took a 2-1 lead that his team further maintained and snatched the victory.
