Alex Rodriguez and Jennifer Lopez were a power couple that fans were in love with. The two were together for four years and throughout that time, they made the headlines. But while appearing on a show, the latter once shut down rumors of them getting married to the Yankees legend.

JLo was on The Ellen DeGeneres Show when she was asked about marriage. The pop icon avoided answering DeGeneres’ questions on the subject. Furthermore, she refuted any claims that the talk show host made about her getting married. 

Jennifer Lopez awkwardly shut down claims about her marriage to Alex Rodriguez

During an appearance on the Ellen DeGeneres Show in 2018, Jennifer Lopez was bombarded with questions about getting married to A-Rod. DeGeneres first said that A-Rod had told her that he and JLo were going to get married. Lopez rebuffed the statement, saying, “He did not say that, he did not say that.” The talk show host then said that A-Rod had sent her a text. But JLo quickly asked to see the text. 

Following this, DeGeneres then asked, “So you’ll be getting married?” To which JLo said, “I don’t know.” The whole interaction seemed awkward as the pop icon was trying to avoid the questions about marriage.

But DeGeneres did not give up and continued with the topic, this time suggesting that the couple to get married at Christmas. Lopez shrugged the suggestion off and smiled. Although the questions about marriage may have been a bit weird, they seemed to predict the future for JLo.

A-Rod proposed to JLo less than 6 months later:

In March 2019, J-Lo said “yes” when her then-boyfriend A-Rod got down on one knee and proposed. This was less than 6 months after she was bombarded with questions about marriage. The couple was in the Bahamas to celebrate two years together when the proposal took place.

So although Ellen DeGeneres may have made JLo feel really uncomfortable, she did somewhat predict that A-Rod was going to propose. Lopez and A-Rod eventually split up in April last year. And unfortunately, marriage seemed far away for the two. But JLo did have her happy ending, eventually. She got back together with and married Ben Affleck.
