Who will be the American League MVP between Aaron Judge, and Shohei Ohtani, has become the hottest topic in MLB right now. And to pick one among them for the MVP is proving to be the most difficult thing.

On one hand, Judge has been carrying the Yankees on his shoulder throughout the ongoing MLB season; On the other hand, Ohtani is creating a new template as a two-way player. The only thing that sets them apart is Judge will play the postseason games, and Ohtani will not.

It is no secret that Ohtani belongs to a different league as a two-way player. A dynamic force from the mound and a hit machine from the plate, Shohei Ohtani, is the Rolls-Royce of Major League Baseball. But, are his remarkable performances enough to hand the MVP Award over Aaron Judge?

“Shohei Ohtani is the best player in baseball… He is a unicorn,” Eisen said, “That does not make him the most valuable player in the major league baseball circuit… I thought he was incredible last year and I would have voted for him last year as well. Because we had not seen what he did before…”

Eisen also pointed out that Ohtani displaying his two-way game against the Yankees is not enough to win the MVP. Because Judge has been more of a team player rather than an individual ballplayer.

“Just because Ohtani hit his 30th home run last night and beat the Yankees on a three-run shot, taking Gerrit Cole yard and Judge did not; Does not mean that makes him above Judge as the most valuable player. I am sorry,” added Eisen.

“The Yankees are making the playoffs. And the reason why they are even here is because of Aaron Judge; who is the most valuable player in the American League, period…”
