It was a fateful night when the Chicago White Sox played against the Cleveland Guardians. The game ended with one of the nastiest fights MLB has seen recently, especially on national television. A few thousand miles away from Progressive Field, Jake Paul was battling Nate Diaz at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas. Fists flew and suspensions followed, but a new player is apparently taking sides in the Tim Anderson and Jose Ramirez clash.

The White Sox vs Guardians ended with a win for Chicago, and next up are the New York Yankees. The Bronx team is not quite far ahead for the standings, but they still lost in the series opener. A player that shone, as usual, was Gerrit Cole with a brilliant performance. And while the Yankees wasted his efforts, fans speculated about another matter entirely.

Tim Anderson Gets Hit by a Gerrit Cole Pitch

After missing the series finale against Cleveland, Anderson was back in the White Sox lineup on August 7th. While MLB has now handed out a six-game suspension to the shortstop, and three for Ramirez, Anderson still took to the plate yesterday. Prior to appealing the decision, he had to exit the game because of bruising.

In the third inning, Cole was on the mound with Anderson at the plate. In a rare move for the Yankees pitcher, the ball went toward the White Sox player’s left forearm rather than near the bat. While the injury didn’t look too serious, Anderson looked shaken up as he paced around the home plate.

He then left the game in the eighth inning because of a bruised arm, but it was reported that X-Rays came back negative. While his appeal is pending, it’s unclear whether a stint on the injured list will help. Meanwhile, fans couldn’t help but mock Anderson while taking Cole’s side.
