Born in Omaha, Nebraska, now 36-year-old Darin Ruf made his MLB debut in 2012 with the Philadelphia Phillies. Ruf was with the Phillies until 2016, before he was traded to the Dodgers, who sold his contract to the Samsung Lions of the KBO League. Now, six years after Ruf’s successful stint began with the Samsung Lions, he got designated on assignment and switched alliances with the Beermakers in Milwaukee.

After spending three seasons in South Korea, and leading the RBI chart in 2017, the outfielder and first baseman moved to the Bay Area, and signed a one-year contract worth $1.275 million in 2021, before avoiding arbitration and signing another two-year, $6.25 million contract with the Giants.
