Speaking on the show, Jeter said to Hoda, “Let me just say something, Hoda, you’re one of my favorite people. I’m sure you will be in time (pointing at Bobby Bones in the midst). (Continuing to speak with Hoda) But you’re one of my favorite people and let me tell you why. Because you are always smiling. Every time I see you, you’re smiling. You’ve great energy. So anytime I get a chance to come speak with you, I’m all in.”  

Derek Jeter: Post-departure from the ballpark 

Jeter retired from baseball in 2014. His passion for the sport made him join the ownership group of the Miami Marlins in 2017. However, he departed from the administrative role in 2022. Jeter is married to his supermodel wife, Hannah, and they are parents to three daughters.
