With the Wild Card hanging in the balance, losing was not an option. The M’s fought as fiercely as the rest, but unfortunately, it was the other two that will make it to October. Alex Bregman is a Houston Astros star, but he doesn’t mind playing the villain. Ever since the club’s infamous 2017 cheating scandal came to light, fans around the league have criticized The Astros at every juncture possible. Bregman doesn’t mind mocking the backbiters with his words and his performance. Yesterday was no different.

With their 162nd game won, the Dusty Baker-led team clinched the AL West division title in style. A few losses at crucial points in the season had some worried, but The Astros were out for blood. As soon as he finished speaking, the slugger popped a bottle of champagne, as did his teammates, amidst loud cheers. No wonder, fans were all for it.
