

After dominating the Seattle Mariners in the Division Series and the New York Yankees in the Championship Series, the Houston Astros very rightfully won the World Championship. Within six games, at Minute Maid Park, the Astros wore the World Series Ring after a five-year wait. And amongst a very happy Astros roster, happier was the 39-year-old pitcher, Justin Verlander.

Analogous to their World Series victory, the Astros front office fashioned a parade across downtown Houston. During this parade, Astros pitcher Justin Verlander took in massive crowds and spoke to ABC13 Houston alongside the Astros owner Jim Crane.

Justin Verlander is rhapsodic about the stalwart Astros fanbase
Verlander, who had now won his second World Championship with the Houston, flattered the magnificent Astros fanbase with words of love. He spoke about the bleachers at Minute Maid Park, and how the fans always stood by their side. Moreover, Verlander spoke about 2017, when he missed the parade due to his marriage with model Kate Upton. And celebrated the parade along with his fifth wedding anniversary.

He said, “Oh, it’s incredible man. These fans, I mean they’re always so positive. They always have our back, no matter what’s happening. It’s just incredible to see the support. I missed the last parade, now it’s my daughter’s birthday. It must be good vibes. But we’re soaking it all in and loving it.”

In February 2021, Verlander underwent Tommy John surgery due to which he missed the entire 2021 season. Eventually, in December of that year, the righty pitcher signed a one-year contract with the Astros, which included an option for an additional season.

After a one-season hiatus, Verlander returned with all guns blazing. Throughout the 2022 regular season, Verlander recorded 185 strikeouts and made it to his ninth All-Star team. Moreover, he almost managed 25 strikeouts through the postseason.
Houston Astros – the American League champions
Since 2017, the Houston Astros have never concluded a season without making it to the American League Championship Series. In addition to that, the American League champions have made it to three World Series and won two World Championship Rings.
