The San Diego Padres’ 2023 season has been nothing short of troubling. Despite the star power that the team packs, like Manny Machado, Fernando Tatis Jr., and Yu Darvish among many others, they are struggling to perform this season. The off-season signings by one of the most deep-pocketed MLB teams had everyone excited, but the Friars seem to be falling short of expectations. Additionally, power hitter Manny Machado was just dealt another blow in the form of a fracture.

While facing off against Brad Keller of the Kansas City Royals, the third baseman got hit by a ball on his hand. The team proceeded to get X-Rays, which initially didn’t reveal anything. But team manager Bob Melvin later confirmed it was a small fracture in the metacarpal bone in Machado’s left hand. Whether or not he will be on the injured list is unconfirmed, but Machado is clearly feeling the frustration.
Manny Machado doesn’t hold back from giving heated responses to a reporter
At a recent interview, the Padres’ ballplayer seemed vexed at being asked questions about his injury and having to respond to them. He never lost his composure but some fans thought he could have given better answers. The reporter first asked, “Manny, what’s the latest on your hand?” To which he said plainly, “Why are you asking me? You already know the answer.”
Then she asked, “Do you expect to be on the IL situation or do you not know?” and Macahdo responded, “I don’t know, not sure, we’ll see.”
After this point, both the interviewer and interviewee seemed to get uncomfortable because when the reporter asked, “What’s the pain level at this point?” Machado asked her a question in response, “How would you feel if you had a broken bone? You know that one? Me neither.”
When a fan posted the clip on Twitter, not many were pleased to see the star third baseman’s irksome answers.
Baseball fans are not happy with Machado
Giving interviews is part of any popular personality’s life, no matter their actual profession. While some fans understand that, some still thought Machado could have done better.
What kind of response were you exactly expecting? He’s clearly frustrated with his and the team’s performance not to mention being asked the same question over and over.
One fan thought the reporter should have refrained from asking questions like that, while another defended her.
There is a cool down period before they talk to reporters Mlb is even worse sometimes players leave before they come in to locker room
Some found another reason to dislike him.

If you have a broken hand, and your team is constantly losing, MAYBE YOURE PART OF THE PROBLEM.
One thought the caption exaggerated the situation.
Wasn't that bad. Come on. I was expecting way worse. Lol. Geez
What do you think of Manny Machado’s responses? Were they justified or could they have used a bit more tact?
