 The New York Mets are set to go against the Atlanta Braves this weekend in a three-game series starting Friday evening. Notably, the clash is said to be a decider for the NL East division winner. However, a hurdle in the series is already here.

Major category three storm, Hurricane Ian, already made its landfall in Cuba last night. As it continues to reign havoc, here’s how it can affect the blockbuster clash.

How are New York Mets’ games in crisis because of Ian?

Hurricane Ian was set to move towards the east coast of Florida after making landfall in Cuba last night. The rain because of the category three storm is all set to move into north Georgia on Friday. But the biggest impact will be from Friday night to Saturday.

Wednesday night, the Mets will wrap up a series against the Marlins and will head to Atlanta on Thursday. Whereas the Braves will be coming back home from Washington DC, after finishing up a series against the Washington Nationals.

A two to five inches of rainfall is expected in the regions of north Georgia. And with it, the wind will be at a speed of around 39mph. Until now, no decision has been taken by MLB on whether the series’ match will be postponed or if the series will be shifted to a whole other location. As far as the fans are concerned, they wish for MLB to shift the series to another location to avoid the hurricane completely.
