Minka Kelly, the ex-girlfriend of the baseball legend, Derek Jeter, once appeared on the Late Show with David Letterman. Thereafter, she talked about her career, Charlie’s Angels, growing up with her mother, and many more things. 

What stole the show was when David announced his man-crush to Kelly, and she believed him. Or she had to because of the charm Jeter had over people.

Jeter and Kelly dated for three and a half years and also were rumored to be secretly engaged.

How did David announce his man-crush on Derek Jeter?

Letterman was talking to the actress about the pair as he knew that Jeter and Kelly were in a relationship and how he thought that the shortstop was a tremendous guy. He also asked her if the time spent together would have been fun. 

To which, Kelly replied and said, “He is a tremendous guy.”

Followed by this, he said, “And you were together for several years?”

Then as soon as Kelly replied, “Three and a half years.” Out of the blue, Letterman said, “I always wanted to date Derek Jeter!” 

At first, the actress laughed and then said, “I believe it!”

So, the actress thought that her ex-boyfriend was the kind of guy anyone could have a crush on. 

How was Jeter and Kelly’s relationship?

Neither Jeter nor Kelly ever spoke about their relationship officially when they were dating, but they were often spotted together engaging in numerous PDAs.

They hung out at various sports events over the country, and the actress was a constant presence in the matches that Jeter played in. Over the course of three and a half years, they became so close that there were rumors of them walking down the aisle. 

The wedding rumors started when a source said that the couple was engaged. And revealing only to people close to them.

Kelly also appeared in Jeter’s documentary, “Derek Jeter 3K.” But, shortly after the release of the documentary, the couple broke up. The reason behind their breakup remains known only to them still. And as of now, both of them are happy in their own lives.
