Derek Jeter wanted to play baseball for the Yankees for as long as he could remember

At the mere age of 20, Jeter started his baseball career on May 29, 1995. The first game was in Seattle, and he got called to replace an injured player on the shortstop. Even though the first match did not go as planned, Jeter did not take much time to prove himself.

The following day came his big hit, and he showed he was there to do something big.?

On the late show with David Letterman, David asked Jeter, “When did people in your family,.. or when did you get excited about the possibility of … I got something here, I can play ball?”

Jeter’s reply made every fan feel even more proud of him. He said, “For me, it was as long as I could remember. I always wanted to play baseball, and play for the New York Yankees.

When asked if he thought he could do it, the Yankees legend said, “I thought I could. People told me I could.”?

Jeter has always said that after he got retired, he wanted to get married. And so he did. He got married to the model Hannah Davis in 2016. They both are proud parents of three beautiful daughters, and he is living his dream.?
