Smith said, “I was just mad. He hit me in the head with his bat pretty hard. It’s not the first time he’s done it to me. He’s done it to other catchers around the league. I just felt like there comes a point where I need to say something there. In the moment, it kind of got a little heated. It’s something he’s not doing on purpose. But you do it enough times, you’d think he’d fix it.”

Furthermore, Smith also mentioned the concussion that he suffered last month. Despite this incident, the Dodgers were able to win the first game of the series. But despite this, they have some pressing issues to worry about.
The Dodgers have a worrisome pitching shortage
In a recent update, the Dodgers’ star pitcher Julio Urias was put on the injured list. This further weakened an already thin bullpen. The Los Angeles-based team also put Dustin May on the IL recently. These two injuries, along with others, have severely impacted the team’s pitching rotation. They will have to find an innovative way to fill in the holes for the time being. It will be interesting to see how the Dodgers cope until its starting pitchers return.
