Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has had a life full of ups and downs. His time outside the ballpark has been as entertaining as his time on it. Although the reasons significantly differ. Amongst various incidents of his life that made big news, one involved an image of him kissing his own reflection in the mirror.

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez is a retired baseball legend who has played for the Seattle Mariners, Texas Rangers, and New York Yankees. But, even after playing for all these different teams, baseball fans mostly remember him as a Yankee icon. Just like everyone else, ‘A-Rod’ has a mix of fond and forgettable memories from his playing days.

The photoshoot that now irks Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez

An iconic legend in the sport of baseball, Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez has many proud moments to recall. However, a photo shoot of him kissing his self-reflection in the mirror isn’t one. The picture created a self-obsessed image out of his personality. But ‘A-Rod’ isn’t naturally a man of such category, and his disapproval of that photograph ascertains the fact.

‘A-Rod’ explained the backstory to that photo shoot in an interview a few years back. “I cringe at that”, was Rodriguez’s reply when asked about the infamous photograph. Rodriguez added, “We were ending the photo shoot, and I wanted to run out of there. I think Steven Klein was the photographer, and he was like, ‘let’s just shoot one more.’ And I’m like, ‘What? I just want to eat a burger. Let me get out of here.”

Rodriguez also specified that burgers weren’t part of his diet at the time by adding, “But I was probably starving. Yeah, I just kissed the mirror, not even thinking. But I did a lot of things like that. I took my shirt off at Central Park and decided to get sun in the middle of the day.”

The bravery to admit it all

People make mistakes, often worse enough to stack upon one’s reputation like an irremovable dirt stain. But, what separates a person from the rest of the crowd is the audacity to admit how wrong they were. Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez got suspended from the entire 2014 MLB Season upon being busted for doping. ‘A-Rod’ accepted the blame and pointed out the reason was his past desire to present himself as a tough brand.
