Nonetheless, that didn’t mean his zone of interest consisted of baseball alone. Back in 2008, Jeter openly discussed his other obsession during an interview.

One of the greatest shortstops ever, Jeter earned popularity as a New York Yankees loyalist. His most notable accolades involved 14 All-Star appearances and five World Series championships. He mounted up 260 home runs and 3,465 hits in his overall MLB career. Thus, post-retirement, Jeter’s stellar legacy got duly honored with a Hall Of Fame induction.
But there is yet another activity that Jeter often indulged in throughout his life. That happened to be watching films at the theater and collecting DVDs. In fact, doing so was his favorite pastime hobby, especially during the MLB offseason. Something that he talked about with Women’s Health Magazine in his interview from 2008.

Derek Jeter’s sporting prowess turned him into a national treasure and pop culture icon. He had all the makings of a celebrity athlete. So, luxurious global brands pursued his star value, and he was no stranger to commercial advertisements. Moreover, he also later fulfilled his desire to act by making appearances in television series and films.

One of Jeter’s most memorable acts was in the 2009 film, ‘The Other Guys’, where he played himself. In an interview with the ESPN network in 2014, the Yankees legend once selected his all-time top favorite films. The list included, ‘American History X’, ‘Major League’, ‘The Shawshank Redemption’ and ‘The Five Heartbeats’ among the top picks. Jeter declared, saying, “I’m a movie person.”

Speaking about his acting escapades in the ESPN interview, Jeter said, “It was alright. I had a good time. They treated me good. It is different. It is a lot of waiting around, sitting, you have to do something over and over and over.”
