Freddie Freeman and the Atlanta Braves are a thing of the past now. However, the Dodgers star still has a soft corner for his former MLB franchise. And it was visible during the recent series between the Atlanta Braves and LA Dodgers at Truist Park. Notably, the former Braves star ran through all emotions when he returned to Atlanta for the first time after his move to the LA Dodgers.

However, a Dodgers star was not comfortable watching it. Because Freeman was there to play for the Dodgers, and so was him. But watching him going emotional for his previous team, who is now a rival of the Dodgers, was not pleasing for the Dodgers ace Clayton Kershaw.

Although Freeman is a Dodgers player, it will be hard for him not to love his former franchise. And there is a reason. He has spent a considerable amount of time at the Braves. Having played for 12 years in Truist Park, Freeman also won the World Series with the Atlanta Braves in the 2022 season.

After winning the 2022 World Series, Freeman entered his free agency. Being a talisman for the Braves for so many years, Freeman expected the Braves to extend his contract. But it did not happen. Later, he signed a long-term deal with the LA Dodgers and joined their star-studded team.

Per CBS Sports, Kershaw said that he does not want the Dodgers to be a second fiddle for Freeman.

“He’s obviously been a big contributor for our team. And I hope we’re not second fiddle,” Kershaw said. “It’s a pretty special team over here, too. I think whenever he gets comfortable over here, he’ll really enjoy it.”
