When the 2022 MLB season kicked off, baseball fans expected the Phillies to have a good season, given the strength of their roster. But seems like things did not work for the Phillies, as they have become a mid-table team.

The Phillies have lost more games than they have won in 2022. A team that consists of a reigning National League MVP, five 2021 All-Star players, and a payroll above the luxury tax, the Phillies have brought nothing but a disappointment in the current season. And that is probably the main reason the Phillies sacked Joe Girardi.

Philadelphia Phillies fans celebrate the sacking of Joe Girardi
Despite having a star-studded squad, Girardi failed to make an impact in the National League. So, the sacking was almost on the cards for the Phillies manager. Under Girardi’s leadership, the Phillies won just 22 games out of 51.

It might also be a coincidence, but the change in the leadership worked for the Phillies in the first game without Girardi. They hammered the Angels 10-0 on Friday. Taking to Twitter, the Phillies fans celebrated the sacking of the former Yankees manager.

Countless Phillies fans are happy with this decision. Because, despite being a great manager, Girardi’s stint at the Phillies did not work for either party. Under his leadership, the Phillies have lost 141 games compared to 132 wins.

Fuck the Phillies man. Nah I’m sick of Joe Girardi’s bonehead bullpen management, his zero energy or enthusiasm, his horrific postgame interviews. But I’m more pissed off at EVERY PLAYER IN THAT LOCKER ROOM. Except Harper. They all have to change the way they play.
