Derek Jeter has been in a lot of highly publicized relationships over the years. But that all ended in 2012 when he met his future wife, Hannah Davis. Notably, the two dated for three years before getting engaged in 2015. This was followed by their wedding a year later, in July 2016.

Jeter and Hannah have been happily married since then and now have three daughters together. But Davis once recounted a funny incident regarding her first meeting with Derek Jeter.

Hannah Davis was single, and she made sure Derek Jeter knew that

Davis once told the story of how she and Jeter first met. And how she made sure that he knew her relationship status was single at the time. With her mother’s help, Hannah devised a plan to make sure that Jeter was aware of the same. The SI Swimsuit model said “I remember going into the bathroom with my mom and telling her like I need to make sure he knows I’m not with my friend. You know what I mean? Because I’m single, Like I am single.”

Had Hannah not let Jeter know about her relationship status, the former Yankee would not have known about the same. Because Jeter himself revealed that he actually thought that she was dating someone at the time.

And when Hannah and her mom went through with the plan, he knew she was single. Jeter recalled the incident by saying – “She mentions stuff like Oh you know, Hannah how difficult is it being single in New York? And all this other stuff.”

Following this, Hannah says that she felt embarrassed by what her mother was saying. She said, “I just remember feeling like I was dying inside. Like, I hope he didn’t just hear that because I don’t want to sound desperate.”

But despite the embarrassment she felt, the plan worked. And as everyone knows, Jeter and Hannah started dating and soon became a married couple.

Hannah didn’t know how big a star her boyfriend was

When they first started dating, Hannah Davis didn’t know how big a star Derek Jeter really was. This was because she came from the Virgin Islands and didn’t really follow baseball. Notably, Hannah and Jeter met during the offseason and so she couldn’t experience how big a sports star he was until later on in their relationship.
