Derek Jeter dislocated his shoulder in 2003!
In a 2004 interview with Playboy, Derek Jeter recalled his first serious injury. It was a dislocated shoulder that he suffered during the 2003 opening-day game against the Toronto Blue Jays. When asked if it was his most serious injury, Jeter said that it was the only serious injury he’d had.

JETER: It was the only serious injury I’ve had. I was out for six weeks.

JETER: I thought maybe I had broken my collarbone, because I felt a pop.
PLAYBOY: Was there instant pain?

JETER: It didn’t feel good. I wouldn’t recommend it. I was kind of afraid to look at it, because I thought I’d see it coming out.
Jeter thought that he’d broken his collarbone, but luckily the injury wasn’t that serious. Although the injury did keep Jeter out of action for 6 weeks, he came back better than ever. And led the Yankees to the World Series that year.

Since then, the former Yankee has had more serious injuries over the years. But he didn’t miss too many games because of injury. This, combined with his determination to keep improving, is what allowed him to be effective for so many years.
What was Jeter’s worst injury?
Derek Jeter’s worst injury is the broken ankle he suffered in Game 1 of the ALCS in 2012. It was Jeter’s worst injury and also caused him to miss most of the 2013 season as well. Jeter had multiple setbacks while recovering from this injury. And it was the most amount of games Jeter had missed in his career.
