Since retiring from baseball, a lot has changed for Derek Jeter. The former Yankee star has tried his hand at management as part owner and CEO of the Miami Marlins. Meanwhile, the Yankee legend has been enjoying being a father to his three daughters. A few years back, when Jeter was expecting his first child with his wife Hannah, he went on the Tonight Show and talked about the experience. During this appearance, Jeter reportedly cracked a very funny joke.

Derek Jeter cracked a joke about his wife’s pregnancy cravings

In February 2017, Derek Jeter and his wife Hannah announced that they were expecting their first child together. Following this, Jeter talked about the experience while on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon. He specifically mentioned his wife’s pregnancy cravings and cracked a joke about them. He mentioned that Hannah didn’t eat red meat but during pregnancy she was craving beef jerky. This led to them stocking large amounts of it at home. 

As a joke for the viewers, Jeter then started listing off things that Hannah liked to eat that they could send. According to E! News, Jeter said “She doesn’t eat red meat, but she mentions beef jerky. Now we have a lifetime supply of beef jerky at the house…So, if anyone’s listening, she really craves ice cream, strollers…”

The Yankee star really didn’t hold back on the joke. But a lot has changed since that interview, Jeter now has three daughters and is enjoying every minute of his fatherhood journey. Furthermore, he once even opened up about his plans for parenthood. This is a far change from a person who was once unfamiliar with parenthood. Jeter even shares updates about his children every now and then.

After retiring from baseball, Derek Jeter has been more open about his private life. The former Yankee star joined social media last year and has started sharing updates about his family. He occasionally posts videos and pictures of him with his three daughters on Instagram.
