Jose Trevino paid an emotional tribute to his late father
At once, the Yankees were trailing the Orioles in the second game of the series, but Jose Trevino made sure his team to not lose the fourth game on a trot. First, he smacked a home run and a tying single in the seventh inning, then the Yankees’ catcher hit a game-winning single in the Yankee Stadium.

When Trevino won the game for the Yankees, he celebrated the moment in style. With his eyes welled in tears, he paid a special tribute to his late father. Per Trevino, his father wanted him to do something like this in the Yankee Stadium. This moment became more special because it was his late father’s birthday.

“I know you all saw some tears. There is a reason behind it. My dad was a huge Yankees fan,” Trevino expressed. “He would always put me in these scenarios. He always said, ‘Ninth inning, down one, you need a base hit here to tie the game or win the game at Yankee Stadium. It would have been awesome for him to be here. But I know he’s watching. He always said, like, ‘I’m preparing you to be a Yankee, always.”

Currently, both teams have won one game each, and they will play the decider on May 26. With the latest win over the Orioles, the momentum is in favor of the home team. But given the unpredictability of the Orioles, anything can happen on Wednesday.
