ESPN’s Jeff Passan at WWE Raw? Yes, the world of professional sports has just witnessed an unusual yet lively cross-sports moment on Monday, 28th April. Nobody saw it coming. An MLB insider making an out-of-the-blue appearance at WWE Raw! He was never known to be around the wrestling ringside. After all, the baseball world knows him for covering major league baseball since 2004. From MLB fandom to WWE enthusiasts, all were utterly amused to see him at the Raw, WWE’s Monday night ritual.

Just when the news of his presence around the ringsides was out, followers of both sports couldn’t hold back from sharing their hilarious takes. Why hilarious, though? It’s not every day that we get to see MLB colliding with WWE.

44-year-old Passan is renowned for his youthful looks, so fans were bound to target that: “Is this when he was 12?” This was a collective reaction coming from WWE fandom. You see, he clearly doesn’t look 44.

Not just both worlds’ fandom, but nobody had this in their 2025 bingo card: “I did NOT have this on my bingo card in 2025, let alone ever.” But this isn’t the first time Jeff Passan was seen in the WWE world. Back in July 2024, in the episode of The Pat McAfee Show, Passan’s segment was disrupted by Wyatt Sicks’ glitch. So, sure, nobody expected him to make an appearance at WWE Raw, but Passan has crossed paths with WWE.

In the clip that went viral about his appearance, he was seen surrounded by some young WWE fandom, and well, since he doesn’t look his age, he was once again targeted for his young-looking appearance: “Gotta surround him with 14-year-olds so he appears the same size.” The fan here took a hilarious jab at the way he looked around young kids.

Some seemed JUST okay with his presence at WWE Raw, but it didn’t matter enough. But what caught their attention was why he’s in the crowd and not as a guest. “Cool, why is he in the crowd?” Jeff Passan has known the world of professional sports, especially baseball, for more than a decade. So, naturally, fans were curious why he was in public. Maybe he just wanted to make a low-key presence as a fan.

Fans were holding signs as soon as Passan was spotted. An MLB journalist at WWE Raw excited everyone. The sign said: “Jeff Passan is Here.” To say the least, the fans were caught off guard as soon as Passan entered, and they wanted the world to know that he’s there.

Ironic, but, indeed, athletes don’t just play, they also follow sports, and it doesn’t necessarily have to be their sport. Here are some MLB players who have reflected on their love for WWE.

Talking about MLB world colliding with WWE, one name is bound to come up. Josh Reddick from the Arizona Diamondbacks. Interestingly, a long time ago, he had a bet related to a beard with Daniel Bryan. And it’s going to catch you by surprise that eventually the bet led to Bryan, himself, shaving Reddick’s beard on camera. At that time, Reddick used to play for the Houston Astros.
