Derek Jeter was a force on the field and took the baseball world by storm in the 1990s. His twenty-season career was well on its way to being worthy of Cooperstown before he actually got inducted into the Hall of Fame. Jeter went on to win five World Series with the New York Yankees and established himself as a household name in the sport. Baseball fans still lovingly call him the Captain, even though he hung up his uniform in 2014.

Life after retirement treated the former athlete well, especially in his personal life. He shifted his focus from baseball to family and married supermodel Hannah Davis in 2016. The couple now has three daughters: Bella, River, and Raine. From what his social media tells fans, the former shortstop has adapted well to life as a family man. In fact, he once talked about how fatherhood changed his outlook on life.

Derek Jeter’s daughter always brightened his day

Like most fathers, when Bella Raine Jeter was born, her dad was the happiest man alive. Then the Jeter couple announced they were having another daughter and the retired athlete’s happiness possibly doubled. He gave an interview a few years ago, where he talked about life as a father and how it changed him as a person.

“Everyone says wait till you have your own kids, but, it’s pretty special. Regardless of what happens throughout the course of the day, when you actually get there, when you’re child smiles and runs up to you, it just doesn’t make a difference if you had a good day or bad bay,” Jeter told E! News.

He continued, “It warms your heart. It’s something I’m extremely proud of – the fact that we have a young, vibrant, energetic daughter and then we have another child on the way.” Most people love coming home to happy faces, and for Jeter, that was Bella.

Jeter’s daughters have him completely enamored

Most parents give in to the whims of their kids as long as they’re ‘reasonable’. And Derek Jeter is no different. Although he doesn’t share a lot about his life on social media, his interviews make it clear how much he loves his family. From manicures to make-up, from tennis lessons to school pick-ups and drop-offs, the retired athlete once said every day is something new with his kids.
