Derek Jeter was not just a shortstop for the New York Yankees. A captain, a leader, and a fan favorite, Jeter will go down as one of the most celebrated MLB players ever. 

Having played for a single franchise throughout his baseball career, the former Yankees captain won everything in Major League Baseball. A five-time World Series champion, MLB Hall of Famer, one World Series MVP, and whatnot, Jeter was a complete box-office for the Pinstripes.

Recently, the New York Yankees honored their talisman for his Baseball Hall of Fame induction in 2020. For those who remember, Jeter’s Hall of Fame speech in Cooperstown was a memorable one. And recently, a day before his Hall of Fame tribute in the Bronx, Jeter opened up about the experience when he got inducted into the Hall of Fame.

The former Yankees captain said it was a surreal and one of the most special moments in his entire MLB career.

“It was a surreal experience. I mean, you don’t never know the emotions you are gonna feel. But standing on that stage with everyone that has helped along the way in front of you and then you have all the greatest players who have ever played the game behind you; It can be intimidating and definitely without question one of the most special moments I have had in my career,” Derek Jeter said.

Jeter has always been a lucky charm for the Pinstripes. The Yankees achieved the pinnacle during his professional career. And ever since his retirement, they have not been the same. It has been over 12 years since the Yankees won the championship. Notably, it also came under Jeter’s leadership.
