Los Angeles Angels acquired Lucas Giolito from the Chicago White Sox earlier this season. Though the pitcher has a short time with the Angels, he has some interesting things to share. Giolito was seen recently in the episode of Chris Rose Sports, where he was asked about his co-player, Shohei Ohtani. The pitcher shared some of their fun weight room stories, starring Shohei Ohtani. He revealed the camaraderie he shared with the Japanese player. He said, “Like he would mess around, talk some s**t to me. It was good.”

Giolito revealed Ohtani’s pre-game ritual and stated, “He’ll have like the iPad or he’ll have the TVs in the weight room showing the other team’s pitcher”. Ohtani’s pre-ritual includes analyzing the pitcher that may give him a new hint to hit. Giolito further added that “he’s like preparing to hit at the same time while he’s doing his exercises to warm up for pitching”. Former Angel’s pitcher had a great time with Ohtani during the games and he has learned a lot from the star, including some weight room rituals. 

This was not the first time Ohtani took the pitcher’s attention. It had happened earlier, too.

The Japanese player not only leaves his fans in awe but also his teammates. When Giolito had his first start, he laid sight on Ohtani from the dugout. Ohtani had just completed his 39th home run. When he was returning to the dugout, Giolito had a look of joy and disbelief that he was sitting beside none other than Shohei Ohtani.
