He claimed the Yankees won the championship in 2009 because of discipline, while he also heaped some high praise on the former Yankees’ owner, the late George Steinbrenner.

I love him dearly… I know when I won the World Championship, it was because we were very talented. But it’s not just about baseball or basketball. It’s really who is the most disciplined team.”
